Emmaisa Nzondo spoke exclusively to iFollow Barnsley after our U18s secured safe passage into the FA Youth Cup second round, beating Carlisle United 5-1 on Tuesday evening.
Nzondo was on target twice for the young Reds at Brunton Park, the attacker continuing a strong start to the season under the tutelage of Nicky Eaden.
The 17-year-old was quite honest about the Reds' performance, admitting standards for parts were not up to required levels, but after the break the side rekindled their free-flowing confidence found last campaign.
"Good win. At the start it was a shaky performance. After the first half and in the last 15 minutes we showed our class and proved what we were like last season. In terms of the basics, we did them well. Switching play, being more comfortable with each other. Looking at the result, we came out 5-1 winners so I can't really complain."
