Danny's Birmingham Reaction

1 January 2014

Reds Manager Danny Wilson caught up with the press following today's 1-1 draw at Birmingham City.

"I was very happy with what i saw ," said Danny. "I thought throughout the 90 minutes we played well.

"The lads were fantastic and got hold of the ball again and controlled it for large periods. Maybe it was a lack of composure or anxiety when we snatched at a few chances but the chances were there.

"Brek Shea came into the team and had a fantastic 70 minutes or so. He'll be a big threat for us going forward.

"We only got his name on the team sheet at two minutes to two!"

Nikola Zigic gave the hosts a first-half lead before Jacob Mellis' class free-kick hauled Danny's side level.

"It was a class free-kick," he added. "He just couldn't shift his feet quick enough (for the first chance). We had good signs and caught them in very good situations.

"We'll recruit one or two more, hopefully, and that will give us a better chance. But on the performance today you can't take anything away from the lads. We showed a great resilience."
