Hungary Training Camp Confirmed.

19 May 2017

Paul Heckingbottom’s side will travel to Hungary for a pre-season training camp.

The Reds will visit Hungary at the beginning of July to take in a high-intensity training camp ahead of the 2017/18 Sky Bet Championship campaign.

With new faces expected to arrive at Oakwell over the summer, this will give the coaching staff the perfect opportunity to assess the squad ahead of the new season. Just as importantly, it will give the players a chance for some team bonding sessions as they look to cement their relationships with one-another both on and off the field.

Training camp dates:

Monday July 3rd – Saturday July 8th

The camp will be held on the outskirts of Budapest, which is the capital of Hungary.

There is no fixture planned into the first team schedule as of yet for the trip. Should this change, all details will be announced on barnsleyfc.co.uk.

Head Coach Paul Heckingbottom commented on the trip to Eastern Europe by saying, “This will be an important part of our pre-season. The lads will get to experience a different environment to play in and we will be able to integrate some new faces into the group. We discussed at length where we were going and explored multiple different options, but we feel this is definitely the right one for us. We’re going out there to work hard and prepare for the friendly matches we have arranged back in the UK, as well as the lads having some bonding time.”
